Question Is this common practice?
is it common practice to pay all that is due on a rental upon signing lease? the owner is requesting 2 security deposits and 1st month rental. We will move in in July. He wants all the money now, upon signing. Is this standard practice? I was thinking we could pay deposits now and 1st month on July 1st.

Unfortunately, yes. Usually it is a security deposit of either one or two months rent and, a months rent in advance.
