Great strolling town in Westchester with boutiques and shops?
Hi - I am looking for some great strolling towns in Westchester for a small weekend-day adventure.
A town with some great boutique and clothing shops, and candy & food stores. Been doing some research on here and other sites. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Maybe Katonah or Mount Kisco. But Nyack in Rockland County and Cold Spring in Putnam County are much better choices.

How about Irvington or something along the Hudson in Westchester?

Yorktown..? LOL. Unless you are looking for thrifts from the 1700's - You shouldn't go there.

Bronxville is very nice but very high-end. Sounds like your looking for something more low key, that is why I suggested Nyack and Cold Spring.
Forget about Yorktown. It has a conventional downtown with large shopping centers. Irvington you will be finished in 30 minutes.

Chappaqua and Armonk both fit that description nicely. Both are small enough to hit on one day.

They're actually so small you can hit FIVE more of the same size in one day.

What's with the Yorktown bashing? I assume you're talking about Yorktown Heights (as opposed to Shrub Oak or Mohegan Lake, two other commercial centers in Yorktown). I agree that it is not what the OP is looking for, but it is very walkable and has a number of independent and interesting restaurants and stores, not to mention nice parks and the North County Trailway. There's a lot more there than "shopping centers."
But for what you're looking for, I'd say Katonah. Very quaint, lots of stores and galleries. Afterwards you can go over to the Katonah Museum.
If you want something hipper, try Peekskill. Lots of small, interesting antique stores and clothing shops, good restaurants, great coffee house, used bookstore, and many art galleries. You can go to the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art and then go down to the park on the river, which is stunning. (If you want, you can take a boat ride up the Hudson from the park.) The Peekskill Brewery is opening next weekend, and that is across from the park. Just outside of town is the Art Lot, which displays a large number of works.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I am actually looking for something more high-end, semi-high end nice women's clothing and accessory boutiques, and any nearby food stores (bakeries, candy/chocolate shops, gourmet, restaurant) and art and home furishing stores that may come with the territory. Not really antiques or thrift stores.
Basically - not looking to go to the Westchester Mall (again). Not Scarsdale. But we will have our 2-year old and a stroller, so walkability is a must too.
Top of my list right now is Larchmont, Rye, Bronxville. Perhaps Mount Kisco, Katonah? Any other good candidates?
