We are looking for a house in Yorktown School area. I was told many people are is very nice and school is great. Only my concern is that I am working in NYC and Metro North is very important for me. If you live in Yorktown, where is desiable area to live for Metro North Commuber?

I live in the Huntersville section of Yorktown, which is in the south/west part of the town. My drive to the Croton-Harmon train station is aprox 12 minutes. My commute from my door to Grand Central is 60 minutes to 70 minutes (depending on time, train I catch, etc). If you live in the Teatown area of Yorktown you are a bit closer to the Croton train. Or if you're in the Croton Heights or Kitchawan area you are about 10 minutes to the Mt Kisco station (on the Harlem line, which is a slightly longer ride).

North of that in Yorktown, your best bet is probably to drive to the Cortlandt station (if you're on the western side) or the Katonah station (if you're on the eastern side).

Thank you for your info.

Since I usually arrive at my office around 7:00am, Midtown in NYC (thanks God, I don't have to take subway fron Grand Central St.). I don't mind to ride on Metro Norh about an hour (it's comfortable and you can read newspapers or sleep...) but I don't know how far I can drive from home to station.

The areas you mentions, Huntersville, Teatown, Croton Heights or Kitchawan area are all Yorktown school district? Any big differences (ex. one has big Italian cummunity than others, has asian community...etc)?

Yes, those areas are all Yorktown schools. They are all in the southern part of Yorktown. They are mostly more on the "rural" side. None have a specific population. There's a mix of housing types (from 1700's farmhouses to contemporaries to some older developments to some new developments) and a range of house prices. In my area there are currently houses for sale from 650K to 2.3 million (and the 650K and 2.3M houses are on the same street, very near each other). So there are a lot of choices.

On the driving issue, it is a quation of what you're comfortable with. The drive to the station never bothers me (except for the 2 or 3 times a year when it happens to be in a snow storm). It's a beautiful drive and I mostly enjoy it a great deal.
