Default Edgemont HS and Scarsdale HS

I'm researching the two districts and took a drive by the two high schools and noticed a big difference at least on the outter appearance, which may not mean much. Now, I know both are ranked top schools in Westchester in academics. But when I drove by the two schools, I noticed Scardale HS had a nice campus, brick building (almost a small college feel) with a nice field. But Edgemont HS seemed a bit out dated, with 50's or 60's architecture, single story building with not much of a facade. I also didnt see a field, perhaps because I didn't get out of the car to look around. Did I miss something about Edgemont HS? In fact, Seely Place (one of Edgemont's elementary schools) looked more like it should be the HS building.

Default High schools

Your best source will be people who live in the area: most will know the ins & outs of the High Schools & have a kid there or on the way there.

We liked both the schools & concluded that they were pretty much equal in academics, but Edgemont had the possible advantage of being a smaller school with reportedly more individual attention. On the other hand, there is something to be said about attending a larger school for HS. I thought Edgemont felt more like a college campus. They do have a field.

We looked in both areas & ended up choosing based on the property we were looking at. I think they are 2 excellent schools & neither should discount you from looking in the area.
