What I like to do in and within 30 minutes of Peekskill:
  1. Hang out at the Peekskill coffee house and listen to live music
  2. Go to the Peekskill riverfront green and take in the view while my son plays in the playground; walk out on the pier and watch the boats
  3. Have lunch at PJ Kelley along the train tracks
  4. Have a beer at the Peekskill Brewery
  5. Hike in Blue Mountain Reservation
  6. Check out the art at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art
  7. Go to Bear Mountain and ice skate and watch my kid on the carousel
  8. Walk across the Croton Dam and along the old Croton aqueduct
  9. Hike up Turkey Mountain and take in the view
  10. Take a long walk at the Teatown Lake Reservation
  11. Bike on the North County Trailway
There's more, but those are my favorites.
