More info about Cold Spring?
I'm reading about Cold Spring in posts on this site and also looking at other sources of info. It looks like a nice town. I'd like to visit Manhattan perhaps several times a month, so a longer commute is OK.\
A few questions about the people and vibe: I know it's a tourist destination, but does it also have a real/down to earth feeling throughout the year? Does part of the town shut down after tourist season? Are people fairly welcoming there to newcomers? I spend a lot of time working in my home business and refreshing daily encounters while shopping, running errands, etc. are important to me.
