Default Sewers/town water in Yorktown?

Can anyone tell me if there are sewers and town water in Yorktown? We are looking into relocating there, but every house we see has septic and well water. My family keeps telling me to stay away from septics and wells, but the homes are so affordable there that it is tempting. I'll be working in Greenwich, ct, so that is about as far of a commute as I would want and housing is ridiculously priced in lower westchester if you want a good school district.

Some houses do have sewers and town water in Yorktown. There are a couple of areas--one in Yorktown Heights and some farther north. The town had decades-long issues with the treatment plants and there was a freeze on expanding the sewer zones. But I am pretty sure that those issues were solved last year. Look at the town website--there should be information on the areas and maybe a map.

I have septic and a well and have had no problem with either in our 9 years here. Our water is the best I've ever tasted, the pressure is excellent, and I love the fact that it is from my own land. I'm in the watershed and the water quality is excellent. You get the well, the water, and the septic system tested as part of the inspection, so you should be forewarned if there are any problems.
