Hello - this forum has been so helpful as we move towards our planned relocation from Los Angeles in June (first looked in Jersey, hence the name, now focused on WC). I thought I would share a tidbit to give you all a chuckle and some perspective on lot sizes and home prices.

As you can imagine we are looking forward to a bit more space in Westchester. We are also in LAUSD here so public schools are not an option.

Just providing an additional point of reference to the overall discussion regarding value and pricing in these economic times.

Huh? LAUSD = Los Angeles Unified School District, right? Do you mean public schools aren't an option in LA or in WC? One of main reasons for living in WC it to avoid the "necessity" of private schools.

Can you clarify your budget and lifestyle preferences?

Hi - just to clarify my post so that it makes sense Mod cut : TOS violationI am selling my house Mod cut: and the sign out front reads "LARGE LOT" because our lot is bigger than most in my neighborhood: 5,600 square feet. Obviously lot size is in the eye of the beholder.

And the point about schools was that even though we are in this overpriced area, the public schools (LA Unified) are not good. We are absolutely looking forward to experiencing the great public school districts in WC.

Westchester is loaded with great public schools. It all depends on what type of home you want.
