Default moving from Silver Spring MD to NYC area

We are moving from greater DC, edge of Takoma Park/ Silver Spring to the NYC area. Could anyone tell me what towns in Westchester would be comparable, in terms of liberal/family oriented close neighborhoods and the great T&G programs in Montgomery County?

By T&G, I assume you mean talented and gifted?

There is no shortage of elite schools in Westchester.

Before narrowing down towns, the biggest questions would be your budget and commuting needs?

The closer to the city, typically the more expensive. And to some extent, diferrent towns are better depending exactly when and where you are commuting.
