Default Best place to park communting from Rockland using MTA

Hello everyone. First of all, forgive me if a similar question has already been answered. I did a search and found no relevant threads to my question. At least not any recent ones. I am currently living in Rockland County. I have landed a job in Manhattan and am looking for the best possible route to commute into the city. Since my job is literally 2 blocks from Grand Central, I'm looking to taking the train in Westchester. My main problem is figuring out where to park. Tarrytown is obviously the best choice geographically since it's right across the Tappan Zee, but from what I can tell, it's very difficult to get a space there. I was also looking at North White Plains station since it's right off of 287, but I'm a bit confused on if I can park there. From what I understand, I can park in lots owned by Westchester but not the city, and I won't need a permit? If anyone can clear this up for me, or offer any suggestion, I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

In the River Towns, such as Hastings, Dobbs, etc., if you look, you can find side street parking a few blocks from the train stations.

You can take the train from Nanuet - Hudson line has a better schedule on the east side of the river but the parking in Nanuet is free and you take the train into Penn Station.
