Hi,
Could anyone give some information about Central Elementary School in Mamaroneck and tell how different it is from other Elementary Schools in the same school district.

So far all information I found is test scores comparison, which tells me that Central Elementary has lower numbers compare to other schools. I could not find any information describing this school either good or bad.

My main concern how this school may affect my child's future and views, and what "goods" and "bads" can be acquired there. If this school has some strengths in let's say grammar or math teaching, I would like to know about that, or I would like to know the opposite.

To make a long story short, any kind of information about this school is greatly appreciated.

Default Central Elementary School

Both of my children are graduates of Central. I found it to be a nurturing environment with the right balance of structure and academics. If I had one criticism, and I have heard it throughout the county, I wish they had put more emphasis on grammar and composition. I liked the diversity of Central because there were kids from the upper echelons like Orienta to regular middle class. It was more ethnically diverse than Chatsworth and Murray, not quite as diverse as Mamaroneck Avenue. Their ancillary programs (music, gym, art etc) are wonderful and their support programs were very good. Hiope this helps.
