Default Fireworks at White Plains HS

I didn't see the details because I read a sign as I was driving past the train station today, but it said there will be fireworks at the White Plains HS Wed night (starting at 6pm I think). Does anyone know more about this event? Does it get crowded? Will I have hard time parking if I don't get there early?

Default Fireworks

They list the times as 6pm-10pm, and yes, it gets crowded. Fireworks shortly after sunset, which is 8:18. They may make adjustments due to the overcast, or postpone to tomorrow (or Fri) if the threat of thunderstorms pans out.

You can park at the office parks across the road from the HS parking lot entrance on Bryant Ave. and then walk over to the school.

Easiest access to the office parks is around 705 Westchester Ave., right at the Wm L. Butcher Bridge. Head uphill to any available parking, or park right near the entrance and walk all the way up to attempt a quicker getaway later.

Some people just set up shop with chairs and blankets up on the hills at the office park and fore go the HS scene. You'd really only miss the low level, field level fireworks, and the accompanying music.

Be prepared for long traffic lines after the works regardless where you park.

Thanks for the parking tip. I know the office park you are talking about.

Just got a call from a friend, who just got a call from his son's cub scout leader, whose dad is the White Plains Mayor. Fireworks postponed until tomorrow night due to 70% chance of thunderstorms.

Journal News confirming, saying rain or shine tomorrow.
