Tarrytown or Nyack commute to Morristown
My husband will work in Morristown and my kids will go to a White Plains School. So we have to look for something in the middle to live. Is it difficult to commute from towns like Tarrytown or Nyack we were considering?, so far, especially in winter? How much time will the bridgepassing take?

Well, with that arrangement SOMEONE is going to be suffering. Crossing the river is really a problem. Why not live near Morristown in NJ???? It's easier to change schools than jobs.

In working with the requirments at hand, figuring that your situation is what it is, I would figure its easier to live in or around your children's school in WP versus commuting to school from NJ. Parents commute, kids shouldn't have to spend long amounts of time commuting in traffic. In addition, your husband would be traveling in the opposite direction from the majority of traffic both in the morning and evening so it would likely be quicker for him than the kids going the other direction. Kids' social lives tend to revolve around their schools, so they should be living in the vicinity of their school and friends, not your husband's job.

Is this a private school? Otherwise, wouldn't you have to live in White Plains to go to school there?

The rush hour Tappan Zee traffic is going to kill you if your not used to it, or accustomed to dealing with it.
Actually 7, you don't have to live in WP to go to public school there, There's a tuition system they have set up for people outside of the district who want to attend school there but it costs just about as much as a private school from what I remember/understand.

The Morristown schools are EXCELLENT and I'm not sure why you're wedded to having the children attend schools in WP. As I said, the commute across the bridge is horrible and then there's the not-insubstantail schlep to Morristown. I didn't suggest that the children commute - I suggested that the children change schools with a move to Morristown (which is actually a LOVELY area of NJ) and everyone would be much happier. Or not.

Yeah, that's true with almost any school district, but I figured they weren't paying to go to WP public schools......

Well, we think the kids schould have some continuity in life. We donīt know how much time we will stay and already speaking 2 languages, they will have to learn another language.
Rush is not so a problem as we come from a brazilian city with rush from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening.hahahah
