I will start taking metro north to the city next month from this station. Are the trains so crowded in the morning rush that by the time the train gets to fleetwood you don't get a seat and have to stand?

Thanks, I am just trying to get a heads up to what this is like,

T.

You should be able to find a seat EXCEPT on the 7:33 local. It's full of Fordham Prep kids who don't get off until Botanical Garden, so getting a seat can be a challenge.

I'll just confirm that. Every once in a while a train that shouldn't be crowded is, but you can always count on the Catholic school kids.

Thanks for the info. Is there an express train that runs in the mornings that bypasses all the bronx stops?

There are many express trains that skip all the bronx stations and some skip some of the bronx stations. I personally take the 6:58. Makes one stop at Mt Vernon West and then the next stop is 125th street. It's a great commute from Fleetwood.

And I always get a seat.
