We are moving to White Plains on 1 Jan and will be renting at Avalon. I've checked out the furniture rental companies and decide that we will rent some furniture and buy some ourselves.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where we can buy decent furniture with quick delivery? I'm looking for a bed and a sofa bed. Ideally I would like to be able to purchase online before we move and have the furniture delivered on the week of 1 Jan. We will probably stay in a hotel for a few days before the furniture is delivered.
I was thinking of Ikea but they're furniture needs to be self-assembled. Can anyone recommend a company/handyman in White Plains who can help assemble furniture?
I'd like to help but I am not known for my taste in furniture. You can look at places like raymore and flannigans on central park avenue. The department stores also sell furniture, albeit probably more expensively.

We decided to rent the bulk of our furniture through American Furniture Rentals since we wanted the items to be delivered pretty quickly and at the same time. They were great.
We've also been shopping along Central Park Avenue in Scarsdale and Hartsdale, and along Tarrytown Road in White Plains. There's so much around that we haven't actually decided what to buy!
