You should consider Pelham Bay area of the Bronx. They have the #6 train and express bus that runs until midnight

Yonkers is 'the backyard of the Bronx'. That should explain it all.Big city with all the problems of any big city.The political scene in Yonkers however is a full contact sport,and their inability to agree has severely hamstrung any progress,and boy, does the downtown need re-development.
