hi - looking to relocate a family of 5 from the uk to the rye/greenwich area. would appreciate some advice on quality schools in the area and the differential between the public and private system. i have heard the public schools in rye for instance are very good - is this the case or if you had the money would you send your children to a private school.
oldest child is 6 and the other two are babies.
many thx for all replies.
Rye has excellent public schools, such that many families choose to use the public school system over private schools, though there are other reasons why one would choose private schools, such as religious affiliation, tradition, etc. There are several school districts in Rye that all have good ratings, including: City of Rye, Rye Neck, and Blind Brook. In areas of the City of Rye, for example, families who can easily afford private schools, use the public school system, so it's more of a personal preference, as opposed to a need to use a private school to get a quality education.
