I have a relative who recently got a broken tooth extracted on the upper side at a relatively hidden position.

It is recommended that he get a dental bridge placed to fill in the gap of the missing tooth. In order to find a good oral surgeon, I've done searches online and have found IllustraDent (in Manhattan) that has got good reviews from its past clients.

Out first visit to the dental office (for x-ray) was pleasant. I was told that either Dr. Jiyeon Yu or Dr. Andrew Breiman would perform the placement of a dental bridge in several weeks.

I recently read some online articles about success rate (80%) and risks associated with dental bridge, and I keep on thinking about the "what-if" scenario".

Since my relative will return to China soon after the dental bridge work is done, I'm concerned about what if the bridge surgery is not successful, he won't be able to find a dentist there to get it fixed and he'll have to suffer the pain for the rest of his life.

I don't know if I should leave the gap in his mouth, or should go ahead with the surgical plan and simply take a chance?
