Default Looks like it is Boone for us!

My wife has finally completed some of her own research and (woo hoo!), she agreed with me that Boone (surrounding area) looks like where we want to be.

Her degrees from ASU (Arizona State University) will do well at ASU (Appalachian State University). She will take classes there, too.

The community is just the right size for us.

We found a good RE Agent - one who responded right away and answered all our questions thoroughly and with links! This is the kind of man I will enjoy working with.

Now it is just getting this place ready to sell, visiting the community in August (just when classes start, too - hahaha), and giving our agent the information he needs to keep looking for us while we sell this house.

If all falls into place the way I hope, Santa may be moving from the desert to the mountains before Christmas. Ho Ho Ho!

I love Boone, I live in Mt. Airy. I have been there a couple of times and know a kid who goes to school there and works down here where his fiance lives. It's beautiful and I would live there in a minute if I had a job and 4 wheel drive. Blowing Rock is like a fairy tale town, I love it. You will love the college and the town. Good Luck!!!

Actually, no, we have not been there yet. We will visit in August. But we are not too concerned. On the other hand, it DOES pay to visit before making a commitment!

Especially when you never know when the powerful Mods will appear from nowhere and move you!

This thread was in the general North Carolina posts until the Great and Powerful Mod moved it to the mountains.

I do dislike the several sections to these posts; they actually make it harder for me to find the threads I want to follow.

Add me to your prayer chain - got you guys and Father John in my prayers as of today I completely understand what it feels like to want to be somewhere you are really looking forward to being - and then to have that dream come true. I wish my kind of happiness on everyone

Consider it done. Enough of these prayers and NC will definitely become God's Country!

Oh sure, Father John, God knows who we are--see, we bug Him every day! He has a second home in North Carolina (didn't you know?)--it's in the mountains, of course, sort of like Sinai--and we just want to live closer to Him!!!

Okay, we have Father John, lovesMountains, and the Parkies in the prayer chain so far.... GREAT!!!
