Asheville hands down. I don't like heat and humidity so Charleston and Austin are out. Austin has some appeal to me but never Charleston. Charleston is a nice place to visit.
I think Asheville has so much to offer except suposedly jobs.

Never been to Austin but would live in Charleston for sure. Love that city. Asheville is cool too, just wouldn't want to live there.

we've been in charleston for 2 years and are moving to asheville next week...and i can't wait. 6 months out of the year charleston is over 100 degrees everyday and the humidity and bugs are terrible. the ocean of course is beautiful, but the summers ar enot worth it at all.

Six months of the year over 100 eh? You must have a broken thermometer.

ok, 4 months...the heat index from june to september is around 100. today is reached 123 by 4pm. it's gross. the humidity makes the heat nasty. been here two years, and glad to leave the charleston summers behind!
