Default Fairview (very near Asheville)

Can anyone tell me about Fairview? We've been planning a move to Marshall, but we've come across some nice home listings in Fairview, about 15 minutes from Asheville. What's it like? How's the air, water, traffic, crime, noise? JM

my sister lived in fairview and I have visited several time, and I love the area. I consider it Ashville, it is not very far at all. I can't really tell you much about crime or noise, but the area is beautiful, in the mountains, clean air. I would move to Fairview, not Ashville. You get the convinence of Ashville, but it is a little more laid back.

Fairview is pretty much just a community within Asheville. Not much out there. Maybe a few offices/businesses, Ingles grocery store, Sonic Burger joint, and schools.

Generally under developed compared to other areas in and around Asheville. It's quiet, rural, and private. No clue in regard to the "air and water." "Country living" with the convenience to Asheville. I would consider living/building out there.

Bye Bye Florida is on a distinguished road
Water is great...drank it right from the tap at my friends home in Fairview. Fairview is getting pricey and is very desirable.

Been looking too and made 2 trips down there for a look see. Fairview is pretty far down the road outside of town. Looks too far out for commuting to town. Even though I am retiring I want to be close enough to get to town and the amenities as well as Mission Hospital (thinking in to the future). If I were commuting to town I'd get along one of the interstate corridors but of course that's where the development is--Jim
