Well I'm here in Asheville for a long beautiful weekend, and just saw that the World's Best Carrot Cake bakery is closed . So so disappointed they had to close their doors. The many times I've been to the area, this was always a favorite stop for me. Nothing beat getting the cake fresh from the bakery (I've gotten it in coffee shops, while good, it's not the same). I see they're taking orders online, but can someone recommend places in Asheville that sell it? Or could you recommend an alternatively amazing bakery?
Awesome 'joints' for sure AAB, everything is great. The original on the main street in Weaverville, and their 2nd store in Biltmore Village across the street from the Corner Kitchen.
You can still order it here. I'm actually related to the lady who makes these, by marriage. Wish I loved carrot cake!
When we asked her last year she said it's closed permanently....has that changed? We used to order one every Thanksgiving since I enjoy cooking a lot more than baking and it reminded my father in law of his grandmas....
and their orange citrus cupcakes were pretty good too

When I talked to her over the Christmas holidays I thought she said her storefront had closed, but she would continue to sell online. Click my link above and you can order from there.
^^^ Personally, I'd rather be able to order online and pick it up locally. Shipping that gorgeous cake could result in one mushy mess; plus I don't want to pay $38 for a cake plus shipping fees. In other words, I'm into instant gratification.
