Rental Homes in Hickory area (Morganton, Newton: for sale, apartments, houses)

Hi everyone,
My hubby is interviewing in the Hickory area and I am doing some preliminary house hunting. We will not be able to buy until our home sells in Fl so I am looking for a nice rental. I think I am sold on St. Stephens High School and Clyde Campbell Elementary. I am, however, finding nothing over the net in terms of rental homes. Have found apartments but.... Let's just say after 20 years of owing a home, an apartment would not be my first choice.

Anyone know of web sites or local agencies I could contact?

If you know anyone in the Hickory area, maybe they can send you the local paper - Or. they themselves may know someone renting a property there.

There are great towns outside of Hickory, that are easy commutes - So, do not overlook them - Morganton, Valdese, Newton...

If you can get there for a few days, take a ride around - there are plenty of houses available for rent and sale - Maybe you can negotiate a lease/buy option....
