My wife and I are considering moving to the Millers Creek area due to some teaching opportunities (we teach high school), but I am in need of some local opinions regarding the area. Any advice would be nice - the good, the bad and the ugly. Thank you all in advance.

i used to live in wilkesboro, nc...if you dont know much about the area you will quickly find out that its more of a "wilkes county" mentality rather than seperate towns such as millers creek, wilkesboro, n. wilkesboro etc...its very small and has a small town mentality. the land is beautiful however there is NOTHING to do....there are barely any restaurants. the good news is it is only about a half hour drive to boone/blowing rock and about an hour from winston salem, which is where i live now. where would you be teaching high school?
