My family which will include myself, my 10 year old daughter and my parents will be spending Thanksgiving on Beech Mountain this year. We are hoping to see a bit of snow (fingers crossed) so she can tube on Beech for her first time, but I'm looking for a great place for Thanksgiving dinner/lunch. Can anyone suggest some places for us?

I'm also looking for events, places etc. that we may want to check out Wednesday through Saturday of Thanksgiving week. I went to school at Lees McRae and we've been since many times...but I'm looking for things that would be a little different for us this year other than the typical tourist areas of Grandfather, the parkway, etc.

Thanks for any ideas!

~~~Kelly
Jackalope's View Restaurant at Archer's Inn (archersinn.com) on Beech Mountain is a place I would definitely consider. My husband and I had Thanksgiving dinner there a few years ago and greatly enjoyed it. Food was quite good and the view is exceptional.
For holiday weekend activities, go to The Mountain Times or High Country News web sites.
