Default cold spell in Morganton?

I have Morganton bookmarked on the weather website for various reasons. I noticed that just the past couple days, (early mid December)morning temperatures were in the teens and daytime highs were not quite 30. I assume that this is an anomaly and that typical December temperatures are 10 to 20 degrees higher. Please correct me if I'm wrong. thanks!

def not normal for our region to be this cold this many days....i have ice on my drive that hadn't melted since SUNDAY's mini snow/ice "storm."

We might get low here and there but usually it is an anomaly! Hubby works in Morganton and it is usually a few degrees diff than here in Hickory.
