In which area outside of the city in one of the smaller towns in the mountains should I be looking to buy if:

1. SCENERY- want to have a mountain view
2. like to be surrounded by nature / wildlife
3. walking/hiking trails within area or reasonable drive
4. SAFE- I’m retired but young
5. cost= $200,000 to $250,000
6. not in country but just outside suburban area if possible
7. 30-45 minutes from Asheville or another town
8. new or less than three years old
9. looking for around 1800 square feet but will take less
10. 3 bedroom/2 bath……..but will take 2 bedroom/1.5 bath

DON’T WANT OR NEED:
  • on or near a golf course
  • family area- I'm a widower........so it's just me
  • good school district

My desires are very close to NATURELUVER as shown below:
1. SCENERY - YES
2. surrounded by nature / wildlife - YES
3. walking/hiking trails nearby - YES
4. SAFE - I’m retired but active - YES
5. sales price = up to $250,000 - YES
6. not in country but just outside suburban area if possible
7. say, between Asheville and Hendersonville
8. new or less than ten years old
9. looking for around 2000 square feet but will take less
10. 3 bedroom/2 bath

And amend the remaining as follows:
1. Not a golfer either but will take a good school district for resale value
2. In a subdivision where builders had a good reputation
