I am visiting from Florida, first time as an adult. We are going to be camping and staying for 5 nights. My kiddos are also traveling with us, ages 12, 5, 4. So here is my plan...please tell me if I absolutely need to add something, or take it out.. or whatnot.. thanks so much!!

Our campground is right near Spruce Pine.

Day 1

Visit Linville Caverns, hike Linville Falls (probably just the upper portion because of kids?), and check out Chestoa View Trail. Walk around downtown Spruce Pine.

Day 2

Do Flat Rock Trail, and then head to Grandfather Mountain.

Day 3
Grassy Creek Falls, then head to Emerald Village for the gem mining, and possibly hike Crabtree Falls Loop after that.

Day 4
Visit Mt Mitchell, and check out the Mountain Farm at mile 344, and possibly visit an Orchard at Altopass.

So is this doable? Is this enough? Should I try to see Blowing Rock? Should I take a day to go to Asheville instead of one of the other plans?

We will be heading up in a few weeks...all info is welcome!
