Thermo Fisher Scientific, which makes temperature controls for scientific equipment, plans to add 110 workers at its plant in Weaverville during the next seven months. The company already employs 580 at the factory and 200 more at a technical-customer-service center in Asheville.

we used to have small, smallish manufacturing in Asheville area. And because of the terrain, this is about the best.
