We're going to be in Asheville area in Sept. We're actually staying for a week in a condo at Lake Lure but want to stay a night in Asheville. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced hotel or B&B near the downtown area?
Historic Montford or N Charlotte St/Grove Park are both just north of Asheville's downtown, they have a number of very nice bed and breakfasts, with both buses and trolley rides thru those areas. And I think value-wise, the Renaissance Hotel downton would be great. Leaf season books up every square inch of places to stay in Asheville very quickly, so as soon as you get a few more tips here, go ahead and get a reservation going.
I would try the grove park inn. since I 'liked' them on facebook, I am surprised by the good deals you can make there. from sunday through monday they have rooms for $ 119 or other deals. I would check it out. haven't stayed there over night yet, but friends did and raved about it.
