Answer this....Where in Haywood or even Buncombe County are all these Employees gonna find work and still earn a reasonable pay during this day and age if the Mill were to Close?

you act as if the mill is like the lifeline around here.....look at these companies listed just in the vicinity of asheville...not all buncombe county and none of haywood at all

the mill employs 1000 people all these companies do at least that

you say it is but provide really no relevant back up.......Its only a lifeline because people view it that way......I've provided tons of reasonable topics and ideas and you just say THE MILL.......yet you fail to see any validity in the concept that the mill is simultaneously the reason canton has low property values, low tax ratables, etc the mill keeps money out of canton just as much as it pays a few people....yes a relative few people...again the mill employees 1000 people not 100,000

Note that retail, education, leisure services, service industry, and health care all employee more people than the mill and all except education employee more than all manufacturing in the county. Also note that construction is just below the mill.

Now will you continue to argue that thoose industries would not grow without the mill?? and therefore provide more jobs, a much higher quality of life, increased property value etc etc???? if not please provide more than just your opinion

the mill is too big for the pigeon river period....always has been and its well documented but the mill ($$$$$$$) continue to get around permit and gain exemptions to laws

newbie22....What do you not Understand? Jobs are HARD to come by in this day....What happens to the people that are ALREADY in those positions that you listed? think there just gonna get let off so some former mill workers can get the jobs?
