Default Street/Road map of Murphy and tri state area

I should have bought a map when I saw it in a gas station on the way to Murphy, it was large scale and detailed. Now I can't find the gas station (no map lol) and also no link online to order such a map. Anyone know where such a map might be bought, it was grey I think and about $8 at the gas station.
If I had known I was going to buy a house there, I'd surely bought that map. I want to be able to find my way around without printing out a Google earth map.
thanks

Find yourself a good Gazetteer Atlas at Walmart (usually). They make them for each individual state and are handy for finding back roads and shortcuts that Google earth don't show. When we moved up here to the mountains our GPS would sometimes even get us lost.. It won't take long until you'll know your way around fine.

Thanks for the reply, I found a used one on Amazon so I bought it. I hope it includes the nearby stateline areas too.

The Murphy is laid out is very confusing. It's sort of all over the place.

One of the best maps you could buy would be the spiral bound edition of the Rand McNally Motor Carriers' map. Truck drivers have the most up to date information, and we always had one in the RV.

I got my NC Atlas and Gazetteer and unfortunately, it not detailed enough. Actually, Murphy isn't even on it. The general vicinity in large scale is there, but I want something more specific. I will have to check out that Rand McNally spiril bound map next.

I've used a trucker map in the RV all the time too.. but I guess I thought the OP was looking for roads not usually found on a trucker's map.. I love driving the back roads here. I would go out and get myself lost on purpose when we first go here, just so I could find my way back home. It's not necessarily the fastest point from point A to B.. but it definitely is the most interesting.

We are so looking forward to exploring all the back roads and out of the way places, too. Senior citizens looking for adventure, maybe even buy a Harley lol

Default Maps

There are many, many, back roads in western NC that are not on any maps at all. Street signs will say for example: SR Kanuga Rd. meaning Kanuga Road is a "State Road"

County roads not maintained or designed by the state are not delineated on some maps; and likewise, there are many "undesignated" roads not even on the GPS system and many of those are dead ends. I was a Realtor specializing in relocation for several years, and would tell clients and their moving companies not to rely on their GPS systems if they were going into areas off the state roads and up into the hills. Ask "in town" for directions.
