Hi group,

I'd like to have a living will drawn up (hope for the best, plan for the worst ).

Can anyone recommend an attorney here in Asheville?

Thank you.

We have used attorneys at Patla, Straus, Robinson & Moore, since we migrated to western NC in late 2001...downtown A'ville. Our current contact there is Robert Freeman. We use them for our estate, will, living will, trusts, etc. They know their stuff and don't sell you 'top dog' if your estate does not need a gilded package. There are probably dozens+ in A'ville area; we just started with them on a rec'd, and stayed. GL, mD

If you need phone or addy, PM me, as I wasn't sure of CD's allowance for links, etc. ;>)

If you only need a living will, you do not need an attorney! All you have to do is go to the Secretary of State's website and download the forms. Here's the link for NC:

http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/ahcdr/Forms.aspx

This is true for all 50 states.

If you're looking for complete estate planning (Last Will and Testament, Trust, etc.) then yes, it's best to have an attorney.

Those forms are dated 2007. I would make sure the forms are still valid.

It's the official website for the North Carolina Secretary of State. I'm pretty sure the forms are still valid.

You can also obtain Living Will forms from any hospital.
