Default Trip Pictures

We drove over 2,100 miles in 9 days while visiting Western North Carolina. It isn't possible to post all the pictures, but here are a few with a couple of comments as well.

The house we were given for use in Lenoir was in a nice setting not far from Rte 321.

About 100 yards from the house was a nice waterfalls. There is plenty of water in NC and it is nice!

My wife, whose clown name is Pixie Sprite, loved att the Pixie signs in Linville!

Two different times, we took roads the map showed as black - that looked like fine roads - until we got deep in the woods and lost. LOL.

But the reward at the end of those roads were views and even houses for sale! The view here was across the road from this house.

So many, many great views and great places we visited make it impossible to post all the pictures, but this one from Highlands, west of Brevard, is one of several favorites:

Wildlife was plentiful along the trails, from turkeys to this creature...

Once we move to NC, I will take many more (and even better) pictures! We LOVE it there!

To post a picture, it must be located on the internet. I have a photo restoration business at grandmemories dot com and so I can upload my own photos to that site. Then I link them here using the little icon up with the i for italics, etc. It is the one that looks like a yellow square with a mountain in it. Click on that and it will ask for the URL (web address) of the picture. Enter that address, hit OK, and VOILA! Your picture is here!

Have fun.

Right now I use a simple Canon S45 Powershot (4 MP) point and shoot camera. After we move, I'll go with the big guns (8 to 10 MP SLR).

Wow. If your "simple" camera can take shots of that quality and multimedia convenience, I guess we'll be ecstatic about the camera we're about to purchase (to replace the one lost with our luggage when we visited NC a month ago--sigh). We're planning to buy a Canon SD850 IS. We don't want "fancy," just "point and shoot."

I'm sure our little Canon will proudly surpass the Kodak "Brownie" I treasured as a child... but may go ballistic in the presence of "big guns," Father John. Hmmm... we just may have to separate them.

Thanks for the inspiring photos!

Jan

P.S. to others: Is it true that we can't post photos on this Board without going through other websites?? Or did I just misunderstand Father John?

That is true. This site seems to be set up where it cannot store the photos on city-data's servers. They must be located elsewhere.

You CAN post photos as attachments as I did here: Trip Report
Those three are posted directly from my hard drive and not stored on another website. But to be shown as he did in the above post and not as thumbnail attachments, it is true. Liz

Love the pictures! They really got me primed for the trip we're planning to Waynesville the second week of of October -- hoping to get (and post) some photos of fall colors, at least at the higher elevations.
