Moving SE Asia to N.C. looking for some guidance and helpful people,,,,,Thanks
Hello
We are planning to move to NC and we are currently in South East Asia. I am making this attempted to network, I am originally from the NE of New England and she is from Asia so, it’s going to be a BIG move for us, we have never been there before, nor do we have relatives there!
We are planning a family lifestyle and to participate with in our newly found community. I selected NC because; it has a less snow than NE, it seems very beautiful place to raise a family. I am also seeking employment to utilize my back ground in Purchasing for manufacturing, Facilities Management and willing to be flexible and relate to other positions, my fiancés in Accounting for sales and speaks three Asian languages besides English. Have résumés on hand. I don’t mind a commute for employment.
As far as a preference to what area of NC, the mountains, foothills areas for a cooler climate might be nice but, still open to suggestions on that! I would love to go Trout fishing again. We would like to make an acquaintance or a few by e-mail would be great, if there’s any question that would help us on our journey please don’t hesitate to write to this thread and we can communicate via e-mail as well.
We plan to move about the November.
We welcome any pleasant comments in our search,
Thank you!

While this IS a beautiful state to live in, the employment opportunities are not in every place in the state. Finding a job should be your top priority - do not come here without one or you may regret it when it takes 6 months to get a job. Therefore, begin your search by contacting companies or recruiters in Charlotte, Raleigh, or Greensboro. Once you actually have a job, then you can concentrate on where exactly to live. If you do not know how to get started try this, google the Chamber of Commerce for each city and see what some of the major companies in those cities are and make a list of them. Then google those companies and find out how to submit a resume or read about their job openings. Good luck!

Dear LovesMountains
Great idea already on my, To Do List !
I heard that there are a lot of fine companies in NC and my thought is to focus and reside in the mountains or foothills area and i am willing to commute to achieve that in my big search for employment.
I have received a greeting from some one in Rutherford Co. which was nice.
My thoughts are to Pinpoint lets say, the W-S area's and sweep to the western parts of NC in my search for Employment.
And I am going to be very flexible in my search to be open minded to other Job descriptions and if I have to make a change, so be it, something new to learn!
Thanks once again, Hope to see you in this Forum!

Hi Jeff,
Good advice from lovesMountains. Employment here in Rutherford Co. a bit iffy at present. Sure not what it used to be, but nearby areas are better. I will email later. I have been swamped as of late. I did get your last email.
Take care.
