(Admin.--please don't move.) I am considering getting a GPS. I am looking at one called TomTom One, which is the least expensive model that co. makes. I would be interested to hear from anyone who uses one of these systems, not necessarily TomTom. Being an older person and driving by myself, I should think it would be a tremendous help in getting around N.C. The easier to use, the better. Tell me your opinions/suggestions. Sure will appreciate it.

We have a Garmin. LOVE it. It's very easy to figure out and use. I had the nüvi 660 til my husband swiped it and gave me his nüvi 360. The screen on the 360 is smaller. Since I am not out as often, I let him get away with swiping it.

A friend of mine has the TomTom...she said that she can plug in the address she ends up at as a favorite. I suspect I can too, just haven't figured that out yet. Hers did have a fit at one point about a month ago and lost all her favorites. Had to reprogram all of them.

Either way, you can't go wrong getting a GPS. Liz

Hi fredda,

We just bought a Mio Digiwalker C220 (approx $175-$250 or less if you Google search) which is pretty nice since you can use it in the car and in Pedestrian mode when walking. It has a 3.5" touch screen and can fit comfortably in your purse or coat pocket. We were testing it out the other day and were impressed how accurate it is -- except when we did not know what we were doing -- it tells you when to turn and how far away. Does not say the street name, though, that is my husbands job). So far very pleased.

GOOD LUCK in your quest!!

Anyone else care to contribute to my education on these?
