quality of care at v.a. hospital (Asheville, Wake Forest: university, move to)

Good Morning everyone,
Considering move to your area soon and wondering how vets rate the quality of care at the v.a. hospital.
I am a cancer survivor currently in remission.

several of my cousins have gotten care there and end of life support at the Asheville VA and my family was more than pleased.

the VA is very hard to work for and it seems to be an 'overbooked' environment. My Dad worked at the VA as does my sister and they both feel/felt they could give better to the patients but are/were overcommitted each day.

I can't speak from personal experience since although I am a veteran, I have a low priority for medical service care.

My guess is that all VAs are basically the same. Mean well, overbooked, and over bureaucratic.

Good luck. If you are/were currently getting care you should get not much different from George VA.

I don't know what type of cancer you had but a veteran relative of mine ended up being sent to Wake Forest University from the VA for all major care. So I think either way you will be in good hands.
