Young professionals moving to Asheville, NC - where to live?

We recently moved here from England and arranged a holiday let for a month to give us time to look for a long term rental and to check out areas and meet landlords, may be worth considering?
Good luck, for $1800 you'd get something nice easily, we have.

I would not consider West Asheville "walkable" to downtown. You can bike, but it might be a hike to walk and on busy roads. Montford is a good bet, also maybe look into the area called "Five Points" and then also do a search for "Grove Park". You don't necessarily need to be in Grove Park, but a lot of listings will reference it if the house is on that same side of Merrimon Ave. You'll definitely be able to get something nice for $1800/month. I agree - check out west asheville also...
when you check out the areas you are thinking, you are going to find some gems (IMO)...i love Asheville!
