I just bought a small place in Leicester with one acre. I was hoping to keep my horse there, but driveway is way too steep to bring up my stocktrailer and land is too sloping. I am coming from owning 10 acres in Illinois to sticker shock of price of land in WNC. I will be needing pasture to rent for my horse. Where would people advertise if they are looking for 'boarders' thanks

There are also many horse farms in the area that may have leads for you. Best of luck.
Pasture-for-rent ads can be found on Craigslist and in the Iwanna. What they go for depends upon how nice the facilities are and whether your horse gets a private stall, a shared stall, or is pretty much just out in a field. A median price is around $250/month.
boy, I sure wasn't expecting $250. All my horse needs is pasture and a 3 sided shelter. Guess I'll have to do some digging. I knew about Hope for Horses and would love to do volunteer work. Are there any farm stores in the area?
There's a feed store out in Mills River, Valley Ag. I'm sure there's more but that's the one I always used. Being NC, you should also be able to find a Southern States and a Tractor Supply. There should be bulletin boards at each store. Craigs List is probably the way to go.
I checked out your boarding stable. I wonder if there is a long waiting list. Are there places to ride around the stable. I trail ride.
