As the song title by Arrow, the musician from the island of Montserrat, where my parents had a home before the island blew up, and made semi hip by Buster Poindexter...

After seeing a couple dozen pics of temp readings on the news, FB, et al I simply viewed my two outside thermometers for today's high. (Doesn't everyone have two thermometers?!)

NEway, the therms showed 84.6 and 85, in the usual all day shady spot, so I suspect that 84/85 is accurate. My point is that in almost 11 years up here, the highest temp we have ever seen was 79, so it much warmer by a bunch, esp for this elevation. And, I am not talking about inversion layers.

A/C on, 2 of 3 zones, and although we had 'daily rains' since mid April, we are no officially Bone Freakin Dry up here on the Mtn slopes.

A couple pics of giant 'bergs we took on our trip to Antarctica a few years ago, to view and cool off your brains. And, I prefer 65 over 85 here at our Mtn Joint...

Amazing blue light, ubiquitous in most bergs, as blue is the 'last light' of the spectrum when viewed by us humans, through the nearly steel hard ice:

I am 6 miles outside Blowing Rock . . . and I thank God I had the good sense to get an A/C for our bedroom last year . . . This house holds the heat and it can get into the high 90s inside this tiny place.

Used to be we needed sweaters/jackets in the evenings in June . . . crazy stuff.

Loved the "cool" photos, David!

98.9 was the high at my house today, at 2500' elevation, the highest temp since I got a weather station in 2004.

There is an air quality warning for Buncombe County---it's in the orange (unhealthy air for sensitives) and a burning ban. Supposed to get better air quality tomorrow. I am not noticing any burning throat or headache, but it did look pretty hazy out.
This heat is finally ripening my tomatoes!

Very cool photos, I got a chill just looking at them. We topped off at 107.1 (in the shade) at my house according to my digital Lowe's thermometer, although the official temp was lower at 99.
