I guess I am just here today to air a "beef" I have about customer service or the lack thereof in western NC!!
My daughter is getting married and I have been researching places/spaces nearby (to include Asheville, Hendersonville, Flat Rock, etc.) that accomodate small-ish weddings, 100 guests or less. I have attempted to get in contact with approx 8 different venues, only 3 of which have ever responded. This includes e-mails, filling out a "request" form on the business' website and phone calls/leaving messages, all to no avail.
How do these businesses survive? Tourism, I suppose. But really, I am offering them my $$ (and a fair bit of it) to conduct my daughter's wedding ceremony and dinner reception. And they have no interest in even returning my calls or e-mails??
I think its a wedding business thing. They get so many requests and such that they just don't care. I looked at planning a wedding in WNC, upstate SC, or WY and got so frustrated by the whole process that we eloped. Mostly because people didn't reply to inquires or would change their prices after we were there etc. The wedding industry sucks and acts like they are doing you the favor, not that you are a customer.

Thank you! It's nice to know it's not just us!
