Hi!

We're coming to Asheville for a week in the Fall. Looking for your recommendations of your fav restaurants for lunch/dinner. Places where locals eat, not necessarily the most pricey/famous -- you know, good food, good vibes, good value.

Thanking you in advance for your recommendations.

Best place in the area is just north of town off of I-26 called The Stony Knob Café. Eclectic, with GREAT food and professional service. Sunday brunch is a HUGE winner, but any time you go it is great.

At Biltmore Village in Asheville (all casual):

The Wildflower Bakery (the original of which is on Main St. in Weaverville). Yum !

Try to get over to Mills River and visit The Sierra Nevada Brewery (they have a website too). Excellent.

The Corner Kitchen in Biltmore Village

Rezazz in Biltmore Village. Excellent

Excellent downtown, on the 2nd flr. at 8 Wall St. (so look up for the sign The Early Girl Eatery -- casual, excellent !

Here is a website that may help too: www.avleats.com also:

I eat at Champa when I am in Asheville and eat at Champa when I am in Hendersonville. I eat there a lot because I am a vegan.

That's Well Bred Bakery, not Wildflower -- but an excellent suggestion!

And Rosetta's Kitchen is an Asheville classic.

Whoops! Yes, I meant Well Bred. Fingers work faster than the mind.
But there must a Wild-flour Bakery somewhere. LOL!

PS: Aaaah, yes, there is a very good one by that name, Wildflour Bakery, in downtown Saluda. Whew, I'm not losing it after all. I believe Harris Teeter sells their bread as a matter of fact, or used to.

Stoney Knob in Weaverville is excellent as is the Glass Onion. Probably prefer Glass Onion but only by a tad. So many good places in the area it is hard to pick. Any particular type of food you like?
