We ended up cutting our stay short. The spa was really nice but there was a lot of construction and the town was virtually shut down. If stuff was open it was only open 11-4 and there was no where to eat. If it had been warmer I could have seen us enjoying the poor and just reading on the balcony to our cabin but it was freezing. Lesson learned to not go except for in the summer. The staff were amazing and we were fully prepared to pay for the whole weekend but they actually refunded us our second night. I was impressed. So maybe we will try again in the summer. We did end up going to gorges state park on the way back due to extra time and it was worth it. Extremely pretty. Got a good hike in and saw some gorgeous waterfalls. The new visitors center is fantastic too.

Sorry to hear that. Too bad, the weather can be hit or miss it changes all the time and can be totally different from day to day. I stayed from Helen, GA all the way up to Burnsville over the course of about 11 days last July. It was as hot as 106 and cold as 42 with clear sunny days to constant drizzle. I've heard Gorges is beautiful, I'd love to check it out someday. Hopefully you have better luck next time.
