There is a strong possibility that my family will be relocating to the AVL area quite soon. I've been looking over real estate listings and it seems that the majority of the houses are small (less than 1,500 sf) and one story. I have three kids and am hoping to find an area of or outside the city where a 4BR house could be found for around 200K. Anyone have any insight in to where to look or if this exists?

Thanks!

www.Realtor.com Enter all of your criteria, price range etc. When folks say the "Asheville area", they most likely are not entering enough criteria for zip codes of the lovely surrounding towns. Asheville proper is a city. There are definitely more properties that could meet your criteria if entered properly. You need to put in a "range" of prices. e.g. $199,000 to $299,000 and see what pops up.

You can also go to any website for a major real estate franchise and use their search capabilities. However, the WNCMLS feeds directly into Realtor dot com every 24 hours, so it should be up to date. As always, however, a trip or extended vacation in the area will give you a personal experience of where you may want to reside.
