Default Question about Gamewell

I thought I posted this last night but I don't see it so I must have pushed the wrong key.
Does anyone know anything about Gamewell and Country Acres estates. We saw a home that might work it has the lenoir zip code but not the extra tax.
This home is not my first choice but the one I love is a bit to high since we have had to drop the price of our home in Fl a lot just so we have a chance of selling it.
The home in Gamewell is do able.

Gamewell's a pretty nice area, sort of country, but I like it. It's west of Lenoir, towards Burke County, and most people there work in either Lenoir or Morganton.

Country Acres Estates is a newer subdivision, with most houses being built around 2004-2005. A lot of them look similar to each other, because they were built at the same time. There is a The average price of properties that have sold in the area is $129-130,000 with the median price being around $120-121,000. I'm not sure which home you are looking at, but the 2 that I find in our MLS for that area have both sold previously, so you may want to contact local Realtor for information on tax value and previous sales.

It is across from Coves Golf Course, which used to be called Country Acres golf Course, but has reopened under a new name.

Thank you so much. This person is asking $ 164,000 but our realtor said that was way to high and from the research I have done I come to about $130,000.I think she paid $113,000 for it.The price is right though the kitchen has very few cabinets and we would have to add more plus put in tile so that all adds up. I do like the area though. Also no linen closet so we would have to work around that also. Thanks again for your research.
I have to add though my favorite house is in Cajahs mountains but the price is not low enough and I fear our home in Fl will be on the market for awhile though we had two showing yesterday. We must save as much as we can since hubby had cancer two years ago and must have a test every three months and we would go to his same doctors here in FL.The back and forth will cost us. We are also from CA and need to visit our grand kids every few months so that also adds up.Whish we could move back there since we had lived there for 25 years but we are priced out of that market.

I was going to say the medical community in that area is very good. I would not hesitate at all to transfer my care there. I am in the medical profession myself, so that may validate my comments for you. Best wishes for selling and finding a home.

We would love to do that but when I did a search for hospitals and ONC none showed up for our Aetna HMO group. They do not have a service area only Lenoir with a few doctors. But we are happy with our FL doctors and they are only 10 hours away and god forbid cancer returns and he needs teatment and surgery Moffitt has only private rooms and I can stay in his room at no extra charge.Aetna did say he can always go to an ER if he has to. What I don't understand is that I can go to any primary they say but if he has to he has to be referred to by our primary in FL. This makes no sense to me at all.

But in Ca and in Fl it was accepted everywhere. That is why I thought no problem in NC.It is great coverage though. When hubby was in Moffitt cancer hospital having surgery he stayed 10 days and out of pocket it cost us $800 plus once you reach $1500 out of pocket everything else is free so that is a plus.

There have been a lot of foreclosures for sale in Cajah's Mountain and the surrounding area, but the prices vary a lot for resales and new construction.

Do you have a Realtor in this area? If so, they should be able to keep you updated if anything in your price range becomes available in this area [there have been about 30 listings per day posting to the regional MLS lately]. If not, I'd be glad to help you find something and keep you updated.

I can sympathize with you on the travel and being priced out of the market where your family is. My family is on the coast of NC, but the cost of living there is much higher and there are no jobs in my husband's field [furniture manufacturing] out that way, so we only get out there once or twice a year. I understand wanting to keep the same doctors, but I also wanted to let you know that Valdese Hospital does have a cancer center, in addition to the ones at Frye & Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, in case his doctors there want someone local as a backup consultant.
Raine we had that happen to us also. We bought high and a few month later our home was $50,000 less but we didn't care because we loved the house and were going to stay several years. This was in the late 80's.
Yes we have a realtor in NC and one here to sell our house in FL. Tonight we also put a bid on a brand new home in Hudson that we had been eyeing for a few months and we also have two back ups just in case this doesn't fly.
I do think we will also being going back up to NC in a week or so.We are aiming for a 30 day close since a 60 day close we will be in CA for christmas to be with our grandkids.
You are so right the prices do vary much to my dismay.
