Default Anyone from Mars Hill NC?

We are looking to relocate to the Asheville area.
Not much land available.
We did find alot available in Mars Hill - affordable.
We have 2 small boys - is there anything to do in Mars Hill?
I could not find a grocery store, movie house or a mall on line????
Help please - is this very remote?
We did not like Marshall when we visited last - a bit too remote for us.
We have not been to Mars Hill - Weaverville.
Any info would be appreciated.

There's not much going on in Mars Hill, but that's understandable for any town with a population of less than 2,000 residents. About the only thing there is Mars Hill College, but it's close enough to the City of Asheville (pop. 70K) for urban-type activities.

Mars Hill has the college, but Asheville is really close, about 20 miles south via a freeway (not sure of the road #). You should enjoy the Asheville area. It's very beautiful and nice. Good luck!!!
