If the girls are hot, I'm all for it. If they are not, another story. Sorry, but since it is Asheville, one has to ask, "have they shaved their armpits? Unshaven pits are, at least to me, much more offensive!
OMG .... I was in Joann's Fabrics the other day, perusing fabric, etc. There was a young woman, totally Rastafarian or whatever the term is, long dirty hair all matted, clothes looked like she sleeps in them; the body odor was nauseating. I couldn't believe it, could not shop in there, her odor permeated over two rows at least. The manager didn't know what to do, he said she had been in there about an hour, people were leaving. Probably not your type LLN.
At least temperatures are dropping - so this "problem" should be self-limiting shortly. Of course, come next summer - it may reappear. Make that "they" may reappear.
Seems to me there are numerous social issues/causes far more worthy of time, energy - and publicity.
Looks like your options for retirement have been limited to TN, Utah, and Indiana. You won't have to put up with any topless there. It is against the law.

QC had a point about the lack of personal hygiene being offensive, but really "LLN" are you denigrating people, especially women, simply for their body image? Don't you think young women have enough to concern themselves with. A good dose of public humiliation from women for your less than redeeming body feature might put a different spin on things.
Didn't mean to be confrontational but it's a latent defensive posture that emerges occasionally.
And that's what makes Hendersonville, Hendersonville.
I truly hope that with the use of the means you were being funny. Because not everyone in Hendersonville has the same opinion. (Sorry QuilterChick - still adore ya though!)
Because let me state with purpose, "I don't care what these women want to do". Heck, go naked if that's what suits their fancy. Just leave me alone and I'll mind my own business.
I can't make any judgements about what kind of women these are or which way their moral compass is pointing. I don't know them like that.
As for my personal take, I hope that the participants are doing this for the right reasons and not to create a spectacle. Creating a spectacle does nothing to get your point across or to "lead" people. If you really want to affect change within your community, you start by getting out and having civilized and intelligent conversations.

Don't be sorry, indecent exposure is not "getting out and having civilized "intelligent conversations". It's quite uncivilized and certainly not intelligent. We do know where their moral compass is pointing, actually it's broken. I'm all for live and let live, while at the same time, there is no reason why opinions cannot be discussed.
Of course, they were creating a spectacle ... in the photos I saw there were several guys there taking photos. If it is a fact that the leader of this group brought some girls there as escorts per se, then yes, the purpose is to make a public spectacle. What else would it be? Certainly not a beauty contest.
Are these "beauties" going to bring up their children to expose themselves in public? Sure, anything goes.
As retired military I have indeed. However, I was born and raised in this country where my values and morals were well established by my loving parents and existing social structure. I really don't see the need to compare Europe to this issue. And don't forget there are some European countries that are completely open about all things sexual. I neither want nor choose to try to explain that behavior to my grandchildren when they visit.

I don't believe that I agree with you as I am certain there are MANY smaller towns in many states where this type of display is unacceptable and not tolerated. As I stated, I grew up in North Carolina in just such a place.
After I moved here I attended the first topless rally. I'm not going to deny that I went there for the show. Trust me, you didn't miss anything. After that "event" I never attended it again. I think downtown Asheville gives the whole city a bad vibe. You get people from all over the country into this one area and hope they are sane enough to get together. The topless rally is stupid, it's for a cause that is already legal in Asheville.
