I would like to get some info on horse stables in the Southern Asheville area or anything south of Asheville to board a horse full time. What are the price ranges for full board, how are the conditions of the stables etc?
I will be living in Candler, so anything not too far from there would help. (I don't mind a 15 minute drive or so)

Thank you

I just got off the phone with a lady from Hidden Valley Stables in Candler. She seemed very nice, but it almost seemed to be to inexpensive to be good. Does anybody know that stable, is it kept up well, how do they treat their horses? Any kind of input on their reputation would help.

Thank you, Katrin.

I'm interested in this question too. Living in L.A., I currently make a 30 mile trip daily to care for my boarded horse.

I know how that is, used to have to do that too. I know Asheville is perfect for trail riding, just am not informed yet as to what the good places to board a horse are yet. I want to be able to trust people with my horse, as I do not have the time to go to the stable every single day. So I am hoping somebody will be able to help.

Hi
I found that the Biltmore Equestrian Center was reasonable for full board, $425month. I am in the same predicament but I need a stable that offers training for my horse and my 10 year old daughter. The only bad thing is the yearly fee to even get in to the Biltmore. I'm concerned that my othr family members wouldn't be able to go to the barn once in a while.

Check out horse farms and stables in Fletcher. I saw at least three there that looked really well kept and the horses in the field looked happy and healthy!! I think this is one I saw: Homestead Farm - Fletcher, NC - Horse Riding Lessons, Boarding, Stud and this one: Saddlebrook Stables

Default horse stable

Hi Bye Bye Florida
Thanks for the Fletcher info. I'm in the same situation with finding a place within a short distance from the home I will eventually find. My search went from 3-5 acres down to 1 because I don't want to be a slave to the land anymore. We're coming from 6 acres now, in SC and I'm a sigle mom of a 10 year old daughter who loved the comraderie she felt with her equestrian friends when we lived in Wellington, FL.
The Biltmore was the only thing that compared from all the searching I've done and I overlooked the Fletcher facility; but I just gave them a call and am waiting to hear back about availability of board, lesons etc.
I hope it's good. Thanks again for the info.

I am also looking for a full board stable in the Asheville area. My present stable is closing.

Smile hunter/jumper facility

My farm has a couple of openings due to graduations and recent expansion. We offer a lesson program as well as a show team. Our website is overtheriverfarm.com. We are 12 minutes from downtown and 20 from the airport in Candler. Julia Collins
