I never heard of Silva, NC. Are you sure you don't mean the town of Sylva in Western NC's Jackson County?

Default Sylva- a great place to be!!!

I am a transplant from the Charlotte area of NC. I would not leave Sylva area and return for no amount of love or money. Sylva is a great place. There is an old sign in town, placed by the Rotary, that states, "Sylva...in the middle of the most." Which is very true. We are 2.5 hrs from Atlanta and Charlotte. 1.5 hrs from Knoxville, TN. We have the Smoky Mtn National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway 15-20 minutes away. Excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing for trout, snow skiing from 1/2 hr to one hour away, various lakes to include Glenville, Bear and Cedar Cliff. You can be in Asheville, NC in 45 minutes. We have a major state university in Cullowhee 5 miles away. Western Carolina University offers cultural, athletic, performing and visual arts events regularly. I would recommend that you do some research on the web.
