I've posted a couple of times on here trying to find information on my 'Dream Town' with not many replies. I have recently learned of the town Rutherfordton and so far it looks like it is a nice area. I know it is probably unrealistic of me to hope for a "Wisteria Ln" type place but I'm still hopeful. I want to find a place that has a smaller community feel to raise my family. Ideally I would love to have a neighborhood with wide roads, mature shade trees and lots bigger than a standard 1/4 acre subdivision lot.

Also, I'd like to have enough activies for young kids (christmas events, festivals).

If anyone on the board is from the area or know the area, I'm interested in finding out the above info and average home cost for sure. Oh yeah, is there land/acreage in the area for not too too much? I know, asking alot, but any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi there,
I'm a Rutherford county native, and love it here. I don't know about wide roads, but I will try to help. Rutherfordton may or may not fit your bill. Rutherford county probably could. It's big, land wise, and transitions from mountains to the west and north to rolling hills south and east. We have Lake Lure (pricey), Rutherfordton, Spindale, and Forest City, and many small named communities. The people here are great. I have relocated many people here from all over the country. ( That's what I do. ) Land and home prices are all over the place. I can tell you that it's a buyer's market here. If you want, I can send you info. Email or pm me for more detailed information. I will try to be of help to you on your search.
Thanks
